Meet Our Sommelier: Ferdinando 'Ferdy' Mucerino

Meet our in-house sommelier Ferdinando ‘Ferdy’ Mucerino. He was born and raised in Naples, Italy, where he spent his youth helping his grandfather make Aglianico for friends and family. With a passion for wine entwined with his upbringing and childhood memories, Ferdy provides a personal and unique experience with every tasting he conducts.

As a CMS Certified Sommelier, Ferdinando has learned about wine from some of the best in the business. In 2012, he joined A16’s wine program in San Francisco, which won the James Beard Award for the best wine program in the country. 

Following A16, Ferdy moved to Los Angeles to work for the Michelin Star restaurant, Rustic Canyon, serving as their Wine Director. His goal: to have one of the most unique and talked about wine lists which would rival the best in the industry. Wine Enthusiast took notice of his notable wine list and included Rustic Canyon in their “Top 100 Wine Bars in America” issue in 2016, which they were awarded for three consecutive years! In 2019, Wine Enthusiast nominated Ferdy as “Best Wine Director of the Year," an award that recognizes the top five industry professionals throughout the US.

As a professional sommelier, Ferdinando has worked with Martha Stewart, Nike, The Humane Society, the Make-a-Wish foundation, Macy’s, and many other noteworthy partners to curate exquisite and personalized tasting experiences, from large-scale corporate events to intimate get-togethers.

Since joining our team in 2023, Ferdy has significantly enriched our inventory with diverse selections, infusing each event—be it a formal tasting or a round of Boozy Bingo—with his expertise, passion, and a delightful blend of flair, delicious wines, and fun!

Besides sharing his knowledge and passion for wine, Ferdinando enjoys soccer, hiking with his rescue dogs and his wife, and collecting old and rare wines. His personal collection includes wines from the 1800s to current releases.
