Product description
Fontodi Estate lies in the heart of the Panzano district in Chianti Classico. The property is affectionately called the "Conco d'Oro" (the golden shell) because of its amphitheater shape. All farming is organic viticulture.
The Flaccainello is selected from the best parcels on the property. Fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, then aged in French oak barrels and casks for 24 months.
There is an inherent elegance to these wines as they age and improve. We almost wonder what would happen if Burgundians planted Sangiovese. Of course, when Fontodi wines are young, they need some serious decanting, but they are hard to resist at any age with a nice Florentine steak, or hearty bolognese.
